We’ve got a spring in our step with the ever-warming spring weather and this month’s updates for you! 🌷
Read on for news on the final PDF release, charging cards, physical production and comic teasers!
Rewards Progress
Final PDF(BY THE END OF APRIL!)- Design and QA team are still hard at work preparing the final version of the digital release! We are currently on track and aiming to distribute it before the end of April (barring any more shenanigans, trickery, or bamboozlement from residents of The Revelia 😠🎪). We’re so close–thank you for your patience!
Physical Production - Once the book is done, physical production will start! At this time, we expect this process to begin in May.
Charging Cards
For backers who have an outstanding balance on BackerKit, we will be charging cards on file on May 2nd. Reasons backers may have an outstanding balance are if they added add-ons, upgraded tiers, or their pledge was unsuccessfully collected through Kickstarter.
If your original pledge was collected through Kickstarter and you made no changes to your rewards in your survey, you will not see a new charge.

The comic written by Gail Simone is also coming along! We’ve included some page teasers for you to take a look at in the meantime.

Here’s your update for May, take a look!
Rewards Progress
We’ve released a couple of versions of the Heckna document and will be releasing another closer to the end of the month. 🤡
We are also working on releasing the Print 'N Plays of the decks starting with the playing cards! You can expect them to be distributed this afternoon.
Production files are being prepared for proofing! We’ve included what the process usually looks like below to give you an idea of what you can expect. Please keep in mind these are loose estimates and we'll update when we have concrete timelines. This is intended to give you a look into what the process entails!
Design is preparing the documents now for printing, which includes all reward elements like the book, box sets, accessories, etc.
The production company will then take all of our files and review them to make sure that all colours, resolutions and dimensions are correct and will sometimes print a physical sample or provide us with a digital proof to review and confirm they are indeed the final files. This can take up to a month.
After approval, the manufacturing of all the products begins! Depending on what other runs are occurring, we get slotted into the production company’s queue and from when production starts it usually takes 2-3 months to produce.
Production samples will be sent to us for final confirmation and from there, freight shipping to the warehouse is booked! 🚢
Playing Card Print'N Play
We are starting to distribute print'n play files for the various decks and accessories! To start we've just sent the Playing Card deck formatted in a 8.5x11 printable format! Enjoy :D
February Update! - Final Design Sprint

Hey backers!
As we mentioned in our last update, several things are estimated to be finalized this month! As such, we don’t have a lot of new details for you all just yet, but the team is plugging away to get the remaining elements prepared.
Below is a reminder of what’s coming up!
Production Progress:
We’re still working on the final iteration of the Heckna PDF, with an estimated release mid-March.
Files are being prepared, finalized, and completed for our manufacturers! Our current estimate to have them wrapped up is this month as well
Once they’re in our manufacturer’s hands, we expect production to take roughly 3 months with up to two more months to account for freight shipping. From there, we can tackle fulfillment! We expect this to take place Q3, 2022
In the meantime, our current estimate to have the books on hand in the warehouse is early Q3, 2022

Message from the Heckna Team
Hey all, we personally want to thank you all for your continued patience. We appreciate it more than we could say. I’d like to give a peek behind the Big Top curtain and share what’s caused these delays.
A few months after the campaign had ended we had concluded our initial drafts of the book. Upon close review with the team we decided that the book wasn't where we wanted it to be and made the hard decision that we needed to rework it in order to bring you all something we felt was to the level of quality we aim to produce. This resulted in another 6 months of rewrites/adjustments and another 3 months of edits. The world was more fleshed out and more regions were added to the book, and we even managed to finish the Dastardly Disco side quest earlier that year which meant we could include it with the final book.
As most of you know, we also have another project, our second Animated Spells/Tarot Kickstarter which also has its own set of add-ons and books. The timing of these two projects with the rewrites meant that a bunch of content hit our design team all at once. Though we tried to prioritize as best we could, unfortunately that means bits and pieces of the projects slipped through the cracks.
As we get closer and closer to finishing these books our focus is on polish; we’re working hard on multiple revisions to ensure the books you receive are as good as can be, because that’s our goal. We want to bring you the best we can.

Production Progress
We’re still neck-deep in the final design and review sprint and while we were optimistic about our previous mid-March estimate, there is still work to be done before it is ready to be released. Based on our current progress, we expect to be able to do so within the next couple of weeks. We know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear, but we hope sharing some preview spreads from the book will tide you over!
Files are still being prepared, finalized and completed for our manufacturers. At this time, we expect to be able to provide you with a timeline as early as April’s update!

Hey backers!
We hope everyone is staying safe and warm so far this year! Here’s your first update of 2022. There isn’t too much to share this month, but the revellers are hard at work behind the scenes coordinating and making the arrangements for as quick and seamless a production process as possible.
Production Progress
Animated spell cards have been released to backers through BackerKit. Be sure to check them out!
Final PDF is on track to be released near the end of February
We’re in contact with the manufacturers for all of our remaining add-on items–once files are completed for them (est. February), we expect production to take roughly 3 months with up to 2 more months to account for freight shipping. From there, we can tackle fulfillment! We expect this to take place late Q2, 2022.
In the meantime, our current estimate to have the books on hand in the warehouse is early Q2, 2022.
